I visited a lady who live in a sweet Guernsey cottage in the Channel Islands, but upon opening the front door it was almost impossible to move because it was filled to the brim with possessions and antique furniture. It was a real Aladdin's cave but there was no room to move. After living there for 12 years and having accumulated all these possessions, she never invited anyone to her home and very rarely went out. She was lonely, embarrassed and depressed. She wanted to visit her daughter in Australia but could not find the energy or the money to go. The clutter had completely taken over.
She was very bright and was willing to change so while I was there she arranged for an auctioneer to do a valuation. Later they sold most of her possessions which enabled her to visit her daughter.
Since then she has sold her property in Guernsey and is now living in Australia with her new found family, daughter, husband and grand-children. And to finish it off she has met this wonderful man and has regained her charming, sociable outgoing self.
The moral is that this lovely, talented lady started off just collecting a few bits and pieces and then things got out of control. Don't let this happen to you.
